Detroit Law is a multimedia artist based between Glasgow and London, whose creative practice spans styling, music composition, art direction, and production.

With roots in tailoring and garment construction, Detroit brings a hands-on, tactile sensibility to his visual and sonic work.

 

He began his career balancing a day job in tailoring with performing in bands across the UK. 

This dual path led him to styling press shoots and editorials for artists and groups, as well as designing costumes for numerous music video productions.

 

Now over a decade into his career, Detroit has cultivated a distinctive aesthetic and sound described as "retro-future, pleasantly unwashed and hauntingly beautiful.”

This signature style is evident in the uninhibited, blown-out visuals produced through his co-owned production company, VESSEL, and in the raw, angst-fueled music he releases and performs under his own name.
