Detroit Law is a Glasgow-born musician, producer and interdisciplinary visual artist. His photography and video work grew out of a background in styling and costume design, evolving into a wider practice of image-making, world-building and visual storytelling.

 

Rather than existing as separate disciplines, his music and visual work function as a single creative language. His sound shapes the emotional rhythm of his films and photography, while his visual world defines how that sound is seen, felt and experienced. Together, they form a cohesive visual-sonic universe - described as retro-future, pleasantly unwashed and hauntingly beautiful.

 

Through his co-owned production company VESSEL, Detroit develops concepts from initial vision through to final frame, creating raw, cinematic work driven by texture, tension and atmosphere.
